Seven is the first GuitArt ever created — the inaugural piece that opens the GuitArt Gallery by Sondelli Guitars.
It is a singular work where contemporary art, cultural symbolism, and a fully playable instrument converge into one living object.

The Artist — Miho Kobayashi

Miho Kobayashi is a visual artist based in Tokyo, born in Mishima, Shizuoka, Japan.
Her practice explores interpersonal distance, perception, and the social dynamics of everyday life.

She studied oil painting at Tokyo University of the Arts and participated in an exchange program at Bauhaus University. Working across painting, photography, sculpture, and video, her work examines the relationship between place, context, and situation.

The Artwork

Created by Miho Kobayashi, Seven is built around the Shippo (七宝) pattern — an eternal chain of interlocking circles with auspicious meaning, symbolizing harmony, happiness, connection, and karmic continuity.

Through layered geometry and rhythmic repetition, the guitar body becomes a visual field where structure and flow coexist. The pattern is not decorative: it mirrors musical rhythm, repetition, and variation, transforming the surface of the instrument into a visual score.

Though transformed visually, the guitar remains fully playable — conceived not as an object to observe from a distance, but as a living surface meant to be activated through sound.

The Guitar

Seven is meant to be seen, touched, and played.

It rejects perfection in favor of expression, identity, and the honesty of human hands at work. Every artistic intervention respects the instrument’s balance, ergonomics, and musical function.

This is not a silent art piece.
It is playable art.
